WELCOME TO WILDWOOD PONY RESCUE
Thanks for visiting! We are a unique equine rescue dedicated to improving and saving the lives of ponies and miniature horses. Ponies often have special needs that other equine rescue organizations aren't equipped to meet easily; we are here to fill that gap so that horse rescues can do what they do best! Wildwood is a non-profit organization working hard to achieve 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
Our mission is to save the lives of ponies in western Washington through training, education, rehabilitation, and adoption services. Our goal is to keep ponies from becoming unwanted, before they need to be rescued. We offer affordable training, education, and support to pony owners so that they can keep their ponies in their homes and provide them with useful, productive lives. We also provide shelter, care, and training for unwanted ponies. Every pony who comes to us is trained to drive, and our adoption services ensure a good match and a life-long home. Other horse rescue organizations can transfer ponies into our care, creating more space for full-sized horses in need. In this way, every pony adoption can save the lives of two animals!
Can you make a donation? Our current needs for items include a cob-sized driving harness; miniature horse and small pony-sized waterproof turnout sheets, and of course hay! We feed a variety of grass hays (no alfalfa, please!) - a $20 bale of hay can feed one pony for up to a month!
Want to adopt a pony? Please email us for an adoption application or other information. Let us know what kind of pony you're looking for, what your experience level is, and what kind of services you might want. Adopting a pony opens up a space for another pony in need, and provides needed funds for the care of all our ponies.
Looking to volunteer? We always need help! Volunteer positions are available for folks with all skill levels. Ongoing basic needs include pasture maintenance, scrubbing and refilling water troughs, grooming, exercising, and training the ponies, and fundraising. Special projects include removing old barbed wire from the farm, installing new pony-safe electric fencing, repairing and rebuilding our flood-damaged barn, developing fundraising events, and researching grant opportunities.
Does your pony need a new home? Email us with your pony's story, and we'll let you know how we can help. Horse rescue and other humane organizations who wish to transfer ponies to our care should also contact us via email for more information.
Contact us at any time! Our email address is email@example.com. We're looking forward to hearing from you!
